According to the complaint, the accused allegedly spiked the victim's soft drink, and she was sexually assaulted while unconscious. The victim also stated she was threatened, which delayed the filing of the complaint. The arrest has put the Congress party on the back foot, as it has been actively protesting against the BJP-ruled state government over women's safety.
