Update 4-1-22 New Harbor Freight Predator 212 Ghost Engine 212cc Kart Ghost 212 Carb Info & Pics

The latest info on YouTube on the New Harbor Freight 212 Predator Ghost engine labelled the "Predator 212cc Ghost" Kart Racing Engine for those following along on this one. If there's enough Subscriber interest, I'll purchase a New Predator 212 Ghost 212cc engine. We'll take it apart to have a look at what's inside to see if it's really worth the extra money.

****NEW CARBURETOR INFO 04-02-22****

The Predator Ghost 212 engine looks to have a PZ20 slide carburetor from the low res pics, BUT AFTER LOOKING AT SOME NEW HIGHER RESOLUTION CLOSEUP PICS THE GHOST 212 MAY POSSIBLY HAVE A PZ22 CARBURETOR, which would be a much better carb. The venturi size of a PZ22 at 22mm is MUCH better than the 20mm of the PZ20. The PZ22 is an exact match visually to the PZ20. The choke lever and bowl are the defining features on both carbs so cross your fingers and hope for the best (PZ22) but be prepared for a PZ20. (Come on PZ22!!)

First Release date was reported as APRIL 11th 2022 so we could be getting close. These Predator Ghost 212 engine will likely be in stores BEFORE they have them available online.

I'm getting some info that the Air Filter kits may be in stock and may be $12.99

New Pics may also reveal Driver Nicky Hays either did a photo shoot for Harbor Freight or may have participated in the Predator Ghost 212 development.

New Link was working briefly today. I tried to order a Ghost 212 engine but it said "item not found".

It's a welcome site to see the Predator 212 Ghost engine for Kart Racing become a reality. And it's about time.

There have been rumors for years that Harbor Freight was working on a 212 Predator 212cc Ghost Kart Racing engine. Well as of March 15th 2022, it looks like those rumors are true.


It's definitely a DUCAR HEMI cylinder head, at least the valve cover is a direct match for the DUCAR HEMI. This would make sense, and we now know that DUCAR is building the Predator 224 engines for Harbor Freight, it's highly likely DUCAR is also building the New Predator 212 Ghost engines as well. But I won't know if the Ghost 212 is indeed a DUCAR like the Predator 224 until I get a closer look. As to what's on the inside, if there's enough interest we'll find out when it gets here. I don't expect to be the first to open one up as the Coastal US States will likely receive shipments of the Predator 212 Ghost engines before we do in Kentucky. But, my personal observation and description of the internal and external parts will be detailed and if there are any hidden secrets inside, we'll expose them together.

Possible SKU # 57531 for the Predator Ghost 212 it is listed at the end of the product page link that Harbor Freight scrubbed the other day AND I did see it again on their website on 03-31-2022. They did the same thing before, scrubbed the Predator 224 engine link info just prior to release of the 224, the SKU # from that product link WAS still accurate when it went live again. I'll list the scrubbed link to the Predator 212 Ghost Engine below. If the SKU # has not been updated or changed the link to the Predator 212 Ghost 212cc engine for Kart Racing may go live again and start working again very soon:
