Short, medium and long-term corruption trends for Kyrgyzstan and neighbouring Central Asian countries are presented in this video using scores published by Transparency International in their 2023 Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) report.

The video reviews Kyrgyzstan’s performance in addressing corruption in the periods 2012-2023, 2018-2023 and 2022-2023.

Kyrgyzstan’s CPI score recorded a small gain in 2012-2023. After making a favourable improvement in 2012-2020, the country’s CPI score unwound the majority of its earlier gains in 2020-2023.

While the rate of change in Kyrgyzstan’s CPI score exceeded the rate of change in average Eastern Europe/Central Asia and global CPI scores in 2012-2023, the reverse trend was recorded in 2018-2023 and 2022-2023.

Kyrgyzstan’s CPI score was less than average Eastern Europe/Central Asia and global CPI scores continuously throughout 2012-2023. #corruption #kyrgyzstan #centralasia
