In case you were wondering why I haven't been uploading lately, it's pretty much for the same reason again. Since I am still taking community college classes, I have been getting dumped on with homework and other assignments. I've barely had any time to upload the crap-ton of outstanding videos I still have to upload. Luckily since my spring break is the 4th week of March, I will have more time to upload some quality content. Anyways, on with what I have to say about this video.

After filming that new Whelen WPS-4004 in Round Lake, Mitchell (Montecat 33), Dominic, & I decided to hightail it to Spring Grove to film their 10:30 monthly test. This STH-10 is located at the fire department located off of Richardson Rd. However, it seems like Spring Grove's dispatch center is a lot like Genoa's and what Harvard's use to be like before they decommissioned their system a year from now. When it reached 10:30, the siren didn't wind up nor did tones come through Mitchell's scanners. We decided to wait 5-10 minutes to see if something would happen, but still no dice.

At that point, I started to lose hope & think we'd have another bust, so when it reached 10:40, Mitchell called the local dispatcher to see when they would test. Instead of their response being, "Oh shit! We forgot to test the sirens. Thanks for reminding us!", they said "We'll be testing the sirens soon." And soon meant at 10:45 where the STH-10 finally activated for a full 3 minutes of alert.

I'm not sure what the people in the dispatch were doing causing them to test Spring Grove's sirens 15 minutes later, but at least this wasn't a bust. In fact, we were able to film two sirens in one day since we chose to go to Round Lake first. Unlike most of Illinois, sirens in Spring Grove are tested on the 1st Tuesday of the month at 10:30 AM.
