In this episode I played Black in a 30-minute rapid game on Chess.com, once again using the Sicilian Defense. My opponent went for a very aggressive setup from move one — fast development, forcing trades, and constant pressure.

At my level, this often works… but this time, calm play actually paid off.

After a series of sharp and mostly forced exchanges, my opponent suddenly left his light-squared bishop hanging for free. Because my pieces were well activated (and for once I didn’t blunder anything!), the position collapsed quickly for White. The game ended on move 17 — just one move before an unavoidable mate.

If you’ve faced similar fast, forcing attacks from the White side in the Sicilian, or if you have advice on handling these tactical early-game skirmishes, I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts.
