I had a thought this morning if it would be possible to create an arpeggio of sorts in the Rytm Mk2, using midi feedback. TLDR, I don't think it is, but will have a think some more on this as maybe, maybe something can be done.

For this video I have set this up that Track 1 triggers both Track 2 and 3. Straight away some funky stuff was happening, so I need to dig deeper, but the immediate notice was how timing can get confused when playing about with the length of the notes, essentially it slows down with normal lengths and corrects itself with shorter lengths. I suspect this is much like when you have any midi feedback loop, timing gets calculated based on note on and off, would be my guess. I also suspect that even when all in time, there is probably a subtle midi delay going on, which for all of you hardware users out there will either be joy to your ears, or hell. I'm looking at you with your Ableton Live adjustments…we have all been there.

As you will see in the video, as I adjust the note length some clicks happen on some velocity's and note splutters in and out one other settings. It's really pretty cool how it try's to work out what to do. This all feels very familiar to me, someone who grew up using old gear that always struggles to do what it is "supposed" to, and how hard it is to make Elektron products break. They can be so painfully perfect I find.

If you are going to try this, be careful of changing certain modes in your midi settings, especially if in record, as you will be sending shit everywhere. Assuming the project saves all the midi settings, you should be good to go.
