In this video, a myopic/presbyopic patient who's in her 50's compares the reading vision of her eye with a natural lens to the eye with the Panoptix lens implant. Her natural eye has not developed any significant cataract yet, but she is presbyopic. She naturally is about a -3 myope, so has good reading ability from her natural eye. The contrast performance with a healthy natural lens is better than the panoptix, but I wanted to get the subjective opinion of this patient, and ask her how much worse she felt it was compared to her natural lens. The distance performance of her panoptix eye is, of course, much better than her natural eye when not wearing glasses. If you have any questions, feel free to leave them in the comment section below!

Within a healthy eye is a clear lens. As we become older, that lens becomes cloudy. The cloudy lens is called a Cataract. In cataract surgery, the cloudy lens is removed and replaced with a clear artificial lens implant. There are different types of lens implants. None that are perfect. It's interesting to see how they perform against one another in the real world. Posted with patient permission.
