Barnoldswick - Boxing Day 26th December 2015 - Skipton Road flood prevention

Barnoldswick's famous community spirit was on show again today with scores of local residents, farmers and business owners working tirelessly throughout the day to help save Ghyll Meadows from flooding.

You should all be immensely proud of yourselves today.

With more rain forecast this evening, we're not out of the woods yet, but the three pumps are reducing the level of water from behind the barricade of improvised sandbags. The level has dropped 6" from the high water mark.

We'll be keeping an eye on rainfall and water levels throughout the evening and will shout for help if it is needed.
