Today we are going to show you Pong Dam Lake Wildlife Sanctuary is known all over the world for its pristine nature. Pong lake is also known as the name of legendary warrior and king of Maharana Pratap Singh. The name is Maharana Pratap Sagar lake. This is a man made lake at a place called Nagrota Suriyan in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. This place is also very famous for biodiversity. Many types of animals and birds are found here. Migratory birds stay here throughout the year. Birds species from many countries come here in large numbers, especially during winters. In this dam along with Beas river, other tributaries form this dam. This dam comes under Hamirpur forest division. Pong dam has been given the status of Ramsar site in 2002 at the International level. This is the best example of eco-tourism.My personally experience here was very special. You must definitely come to this place, you will get a lot to learn from this Pong wetland or Dam.
I would urge you that whenever you come here, do not use filth and drugs at all. Take special care of cleanliness and also cooperate with the forest employees. Do keep this things in mind and be a good traveller.
