【AU】—Claude dies because of black magic, making Athanasia take his place as Obelia's Ruler. But because of Claude's death, many Nobles suspect that Athanasia is "unfit" for the throne and even caused his death (because this happens after his birthday). They call her, in secret, the "Cold Empress" while ignoring all the positive changes and sacrifices she made.

Anastacius then pressures Jennette to enter the Palace after he revealed his identity. His true goal is to make the Nobles choose Jennette over Athanasia, who they already dislike, by creating a clear difference of a "Lovely Princess" and "Cold Empress".

Though Anastacius didn't think that the two would bond, they did and became even closer as they help each other cope with everything that weighs them down. Jennette, despite knowing Athanasia is her cousin, treats her even more intimately than with Anastacius because she doesn't trust him. Neither does Athanasia, who tries her best to remove Anastacius' influence.

A year after Claude's death, the Nobles finally accuse Athanasia being born out of black magic with "evidence" provided by Anastacius—clearly false, but they didn't know better and just wanted Athanasia to die. The song continues the story.
