Описание к видео 9. The Gevaert Paper Project

The Gevaert Paper Project (2020-2024) by FOMU – Fotomuseum Antwerpen aims to preserve and provide public access to the historical Agfa-Gevaert collection acquired in 2017. This project focuses on photographic papers, packaging, and documentation from 1894-1964. It includes 67 samples from the historical collection and 1110 from FOMU's own collection, resulting in the digitization and registration of 1300 photo paper packages and an abundance of related archival records. The Historical Collection began in 1963 by Laurent Roosens and includes documents, objects, personal archives of Lieven Gevaert, and company files. It was reorganized in 1984 and housed in Varenthof, Mortsel in 1988. Roosens continued to manage the collection until 2014, calling it "the most important photographic archive in the world."
