This is a DPDT (Double Pole Double Throw) sliding switch wiring diagram used to switch between parallel and series configurations for two 3.7V lithium-ion batteries.

In this video, I’ll show you how I built a 12V rechargeable battery pack using three 18650 lithium-ion cells, a sliding switch, and a custom circuit board. The pack is tested using a digital multimeter to confirm the voltage output. This setup can be used for powering small electronics, DIY projects, or portable devices.
🔋 Parallel Mode:

When the switch is in parallel position, both batteries' positive terminals are connected together, and both negative terminals are also connected together.

This gives a combined output of 3.7V (same voltage, increased capacity).

Suitable for charging both batteries simultaneously using a single TP4056 charging module.


🔋 Series Mode:

When the switch is flipped to the series position, the positive terminal of one battery connects to the negative terminal of the other.

This gives a combined output of approximately 7.4V (double voltage, same capacity).

Useful for powering devices that require higher voltage.


⚠️ Important Notes:

Use identical batteries (same brand, capacity, and charge level) to ensure safety.

Always switch to parallel mode while charging using a TP4056 module to avoid overvoltage damage.

Do not switch while power is ON or under load to prevent sparking or damage.
