The Center for Excellence in Education (CEE) hosted “Advancements in Aerospace,” a cost-free Zoom session for high school students on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, from 5:00-6:15 p.m. ET. In this recording, learn about advancements in aerospace engineering and career pathways in aerospace.
Distinguished speaker:
Jacob Temme, PhD (RSI '02) leads research efforts at the US Army DEVCOM Army Research Laboratory to produce energy and power solutions for the future. He holds a PhD in Aerospace Engineering and is a leading expert in combustion and aerospace propulsion. His research interests include using high-speed video and laser based optical methods to understand liquid spray physics, turbulent flows, and combustion dynamics. He has over 18 years’ experience in the field conducting fundamental research and applying it to advance innovative technologies. He completed his undergraduate work and PhD at the University of Michigan.
This online seminar is offered through CEE’s STEM Lyceums, a virtual club for high school students to learn about STEM professions and career pathways. It is provided at no cost to schools, teachers, or students. Meetings foster critical thinking skills, encourage excitement for science, and prepare students to enter college and STEM careers. To date, topics have included aerospace, biomedical engineering, clean/renewable energy, data science, and cybersecurity genomics, health sciences,
music, nuclear engineering, pharmaceuticals, smart devices in healthcare, and zoology. Companies, foundations, and individuals interested in sponsoring future STEM Lyceums are encouraged to contact CEE. For more information, visit https://www.cee.org/programs/stem-lyc....
About the Center for Excellence in Education
CEE, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, was founded in 1983 by the late Admiral H.G. Rickover and Joann P. DiGennaro, President of the Center. The Center’s mission is to nurture high school and university scholars to careers of excellence and leadership in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), and to encourage collaboration between and among scientific and technological leaders in the global community. CEE sponsors the Research Science Institute (RSI), USA Biolympiad (USABO), Teacher Enrichment Program (TEP), and STEM Lyceums. The Center’s nonprofit mission is supported by donors.
