The ladies are back this week to talk about the benefits of living with a disability. Both Sarah and Ramya were born with Leber's congenital amaurosis, a rare eye condition that leaves them with low vision. Through the use of their cane, the little sight they have left, and the occasional person around to lend a helping hand, they navigate the world.

In spite of the fact that we both have low vision, there are certain things we cannot do or need help with throughout our lives. We sometimes have the opportunity to do things (we like to call it blind perks, or being blind comes with perks). Although it sounds kind of bad, take a moment to envision us in our shoes, and we would prefer that we could see the true beauty of the world with our eyesight.

For us, having our vision back would be a desirable option, and Luxturna is the first gene therapy treatment approved in Canada, but it is very expensive without provincial funding. But that's another story, which can be found here!    • Please Help Get Luxturna Gene Therapy Appr...
