MURRAY ATTAWAY (from Guadalcanal Diary) at Moby Disc in Santa Monica - April 25, 1993 [excerpts]

Murray Attaway made an in-store appearance at Moby Disc in Santa Monica to promote his new solo release “In Thrall.” He played several songs from that album, plus “Always Saturday” from Guadalcanal Diary’s last album “Flip-Flop.”

I talked to Murray beforehand and he didn’t want me to videotape his entire performance, but said it would be okay if I taped parts of it. Here are the songs I taped. I didn’t have the best angle for shooting video, but I was next to a P.A. speaker, so the audio is excellent.

In 1985, when I was living in Baton Rouge, I saw Guadalcanal Diary at a bar called the Bayou. A trio from New Orleans called My 3 Sons opened. I was their sound man.
