Pro Tips For Hiding Lav Mics w/ Deity V.Lav - Sound Speeds Reviews

Ever since starting Sound Speeds I've been asked about plant micing techniques. I've replied to those emails individually in the past but in this video I thought I'd show a few examples of how to hide a plant mic and tricks about hiding them.

Since you have to be very aware of acoustics to successfully hide a plant, I feel it's important to make it known that lav mics aren't always the best tool for the job. I rarely use a lav as a plant and am only doing it in this video because lavs are very common to indie sound teams and videographers.

Recently I reviewed the Deity V.Lav so I decided to use that mic as my plant for two reasons. 1: It is a $50 option everyone can easily get their hands on and use. 2: It will drive home some of my points on acoustics better than professional plant options.
