We are thrilled to introduce you to our upcoming expert guest and service leader Jacquelyn Santiago Nazario.
Jacquelyn Santiago Nazario is the Chief Executive Officer of COMPASS Youth Collaborative, a Human Relations Commissioner for the City of Hartford, and an author. She describers her work here and impact here:

I have dedicated over 24 years of my career to making a positive impact on the lives of marginalized Brown and Black individuals in poverty-stricken communities and schools. I am a national leader in violence prevention, a youth development advocate, and a champion for youth equity.
During my tenure as CEO, I successfully secured over $12 million in new funding for COMPASS and built high-performance teams to meet the needs of Hartford's highest-risk youth.
I also serve as a member of various commissions and committees, including the State's Commission on Gun Violence Prevention and Intervention and the Governor's Workforce Council on Youth Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
In addition to my professional achievements, I am actively involved in community service. I serve as a National Advisory Council member for Foundations, Inc.; Vice Chair of the Latino Endowment Fund, Commissioner of Human Relations for the City of Hartford, and member of the Trinity College Alumni Association. Countless speaking engagements on women’s empowerment and youth development.
Amongst greatest honors was to be 2022 Latino Heritage Month speaker at UCONN School of Social Work and commencement Speaker at Capitol Community College. I have delivered countless speeches on women's empowerment and youth development. I have had the honor of being the speaker for the 2022 Latino Heritage Month at UCONN School of Social Work and the commencement speaker at Capitol Community College.
I was also invited to share my work in youth violence prevention at the White House in Washington, DC.
Throughout my career, I have received numerous awards and recognitions for my dedication and impact. These include the Hartford Business Journal's "40 under 40" award in 2015, the "100 Women of Color" award in 2017, the Urban League of Greater Hartford's "Champion of Justice Award" in 2019, Trinity College's "50 for the Next 50 Award," the 2023 Latina Champion Award, the 2023 Liberty Bank Community Kindness Hero Award, and the 2024 Top Women in Business award.
I am a published author, co-authoring articles in prestigious journals such as Children and Youth Services Review and the Journal of Youth Studies. In 2023, I contributed to the anthology "Becoming Her" with my work titled "A Worthy Heart and a Promise of Hope."
