Amruta Fadnavis and Akshay Kumar spearhead Divyaj Foundation’s Mumbai Beach Cleanup during Ganesh Chaturthi 2025

Amruta Fadnavis-spearheaded Divyaj Foundation, in association with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and supported by the Mumbai Police, is organizing a large-scale Mumbai Beach Cleanup Drive on Sunday, 7 September 2025, at 5:45 AM sharp at Gate A, Juhu Beach Main Entrance, Santacruz. Coinciding with the festive spirit of Ganesh Chaturthi 2025, the initiative will unite over 2000 citizens, civic officials, and volunteers. Leading the movement besides Amruta Fadnavis is Superstar Akshay Kumar, joined by BMC Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani, and Maharashtra’s Minister for Skill Development, Employment, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Job Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Ameet Satam besides Niranjan Hiranandani, Mazhar Nadiadwala, MD, Dome Entertainment, Seema Singh among others.

Amruta Fadnavis said:
“Ganesh Chaturthi brings us together in joy, pomp, and festivity. But with celebration comes responsibility — the responsibility to protect our environment. Through this Beach Cleanup, Divyaj Foundation, along with BMC, Mumbai Police, and more than 2000 citizens, is taking the first step this Ganesh Chaturthi. We appeal to every Mumbaikar to join hands in keeping our city clean and green.”

Akshay Kumar added:
“This initiative led by philanthropist Amruta Fadnavis is a powerful example of citizens partnering with authorities during Ganesh Chaturthi. I am proud to spearhead this drive with her and urge every Mumbaikar to join us. Together, let’s make our beaches as beautiful as the spirit of this festival.”

BMC Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani emphasized that the civic body remains strongly committed to sustainability and Swachh Mumbai, noting that citizen participation amplifies the impact of environmental conservation.
