Hello everyone. Gareth Soloway is looking at the latest data dump and market headlines and seeing a classic late‑cycle mix: euphoric pockets in stocks, rising structural risks in rates and debt, and a crypto market bouncing inside what still looks like a larger corrective phase.
On equities, he keeps stressing how “extension” and concentration are the real story. The S&P 500 is pressing into what he calls a “2% ceiling” – a major resistance zone only a few percent above current prices – while the Nasdaq has started to show early breakdown signs beneath the surface. At the same time, the VanEck Semiconductor ETF SMH is massively stretched above its 200‑week moving average, which he views as textbook bubble behavior in AI‑linked chips and growth. Recent CPI data showing inflation still creeping higher, yet being celebrated because it “met expectations,” only reinforces to him how detached sentiment has become from the underlying macro math of sticky prices and huge deficits.
On Bitcoin , Soloway remains surgical about key levels and likely price action. In the short term, he sees strong support in the low‑ to mid‑90,000s, with deeper “max pain” support still sitting down around 74,000–75,000 if another leg lower hits. Overhead, he’s focused on resistance at roughly 97,000–98,000, then 105,000, and finally 114,000; failure to reclaim and hold above the 105,000 band keeps the risk alive for a retest of 91,000 or even that 75,000 zone in the coming months. His base case remains that Bitcoin can still reach 150,000–200,000 by the end of 2025 under continued inflation uncertainty, fiscal excess, and institutional adoption—but only after a full 30–50%
