HOW TO GET TO THE HATCHING GROUNDS:
If you are Horde, like me, you want to teleport to Orgrimmar. From there, head west to the opposite coast of the Kalimdor continent to get to Feralas. Once you are in Feralas, head towards the center, south of Dire Maul and north of the Ruins of Isildien. You will see stretches of forest and grassland where the hippogryphs reside.

WHAT TO DO FOR THE HATCHING EVENT:
Find a nest that has an unhatched egg inside. Stand inside the nest next to the egg for about a minute as it is hatching, with its blue hatching emote. Eventually you will receive an event buff telling you that you have impressed a baby hippogryph, and sure enough one will be riding your shoulder. If you would like your baby to stay for five days, then murder Lorthalium to steal her feather. You can use the feather, and the buff will change to five days instead of one day. If you kill her again, you can grab a second feather, which is a unique item only for the event.
