As we come into the warmer Summer months, there's an

increased awareness of the need to provide sun

protection for people wearing hard hats outside in the elements.

There's several options for additional sun protection

on hard hats. Traditionally it's a brim that is right around

the outside of the hard hat.

An alternative to that though is a product like this...

This is the Gobi or Gobi over hat.

It's part of the Uveto Australia brand of PPE.

This product is great for people that are working outside

that may be in and out of machinery where there's

possibly a headrest. So a traditional brim at the back of

the head is annoying because it's banging into the headrest.

This product has a legionnaire style flap that provides

excellent sun protection for the neck, but it doesn't

protrude past the back of the industrial cap, or hard hat.

There's a decent-sized peak at the front to provide sun

protection for the face. This tends to fit on all the

major brands of industrial caps or hard hats. You'll notice

there's mesh on the top of the product that still allows

the vents in the top of the vented hard hat to do their job

to ventilate or let out hot air out of the top of the hard
