We were so happy when we found out the scenic drive was actually going to be open. We saw that they posted that the last weekend in Jan. would be the last open weekend until they got the construction on the road done until sometime in the spring so we were pleasantly surprised to find out that the road was open 3 weeks later. The construction is not done but we were grateful it was open. In addition to seeing the barn and orchards we were super excited to drive down Capital Gorge. There were times you could literally hang your arm out the window and touch the wall of the Gorge. This is such a beautiful N.P. - don't miss it if you're in the area.
