Making a scrapwood chaos bowl pt: 2/2

Описание к видео Making a scrapwood chaos bowl pt: 2/2

In this second of two videos, I start by gluing together each of the ring halves prepared in part one into full rings. The base gets glued to a block which is turned to fit into a 4 jaw chuck. After flattening the base piece on the lathe, the bottoms of each ring get flattened using a hand plane. These are sequentially glued to the layer below, their tops turned flat, and initial shaping is done on the lathe before the next ring is glued on. Once fully glued up, the bowl is finish turned and sanded to 320 grit. Two coats of shellac are followed by Yorkshire Grit and Hampshire sheen and the bow is parted of the lathe. The bottom gets my makers mark and is finished on a vacuum chuck. Please enjoy!
