Canonic Variations on “Ich will hier bei dir stehen” | Original Compositions

I composed these canonical variations on a chorale theme during my first year of composition at the Cherubini Conservatory in Florence.
I really appreciated this chorale in the St. Matthew Passion, which I had the pleasure of discovering by following Prof. Batisti's monographic course on Bach.
I have therefore chosen it as the basis for a series of original compositions: canonic variations. Since I am a great lover of polyphony, the canon is a type of contrapuntal composition that fascinates me greatly.

First I propose my own harmonization of the chorale, then I proceed with 4 canons in which the melody is placed first in the bass, then in the middle voice, then in the soprano voice and finally again in the bass with an inverse canon.
