This song is well known for being heard "incorrectly" by most people. Some people are even convinced that the "wrong" way is correct because they can't get themselves to hear it properly, with the guitar coming in on the off-beat and the count-in on the beat. I am convinced this is the correct way to hear it (or at least the way Meshuggah hears it) for three reasons:
1. It just doesn't make sense for the count-in to be off beat (and the snare pattern when the beat changes for the snare to be on the backbeat rather than the "E" of 2)
2. The vocal timing makes a lot more sense
3. The picking patterns in certain parts of the song make a lot more sense and make those parts easier to play
