Welcome to Parappa 2 Stage 5 Bad Mode. Right out the gate, I wanna say that I really like the instruments used for this. This is my favourite “Getting Worse” transition in the game. Sounds like a thud, a drill screwing something in, and the offkey piano makes you know that you really messed up. And of course, Takoyama throwing his hand at you in disappointment is GOLD.

The lesson transition sounds like a hair dryer, the stringed instruments sound really “twangy…” It’s good stuff. I enjoy how spooky it sounds. I also didn’t know that “Shave the trim trim” was a real line made by the devs! I thought it was just a custom line. Finally, losing the level in bad mode gives a really loud whistle sound, with what can only be described as “the machine breaking down.” It’s really interesting to hear.
