The Maiden's Ghost - There once was a young maiden whose lover sailed the Great Lakes. Every three months, his ship would return to shore and they would be together again. But one day, a terrible storm swept over Lake Michigan. It caused violent waves unlike any that had been seen before. Months passed without any sign of the captain or the crew. Each day, the young maiden waited by Lake Michigan's shore waiting for her love to return to her... until the day her last glimmer of hope was finally extinguished. She disappeared without a trace exactly one year after the tragic storm had hit. While no body was found, it is said that her still soul wanders the Great Lakes in search of her love...

This is a made up story obviously.

I'm a mermaid performer and this is a video of a mermaid wearing a dress. Why? Because I thought this eerie white dress would look very nice in the water. And I think it did!

But filming this video was difficult. The first attempt ended with me slicing my wrist deeply on a zebra mussel (I have a scar there now). The second attempt was ended quickly due to a sudden change in Lake Michigan's currents. My dad and I were in some real danger that day, but luckily we ended up getting to shore safely. And the third attempt? It brought me to tears. I don't really know why, but I felt very down the last day we filmed for this video. For the first time ever, I cried between dives.

Life itself is very heavy right now. I was going to post this mermaid video last week, but I needed to take time to myself to try to heal. This week truly isn't any better, but I did promise I'd post, so here is this video for you. If I'm slow to reply or end up missing a few uploads in the coming weeks, please understand that I am doing my best and things will return to normal in time.
