Calgary (Monitoring Desk/BBC5) Pakistan Canada Association, an organization of Pakistanis in Calgary for more than fifty years, like every year, organized Pakistan's Independence Day with great enthusiasm in a local community hall in Calgary. A large number of Pakistanis showed their undying love for Pakistan by participating in this 75th anniversary of Pakistan. The program officially started with the recitation of Holy Quran and Naat Rasool Maqbool (peace be upon him) which was blessed by Ansar Qureshi, Sufi Mushtaq and their son Adil Mushtaq. PCA General Secretary Rana Sitwat officiated the program with great grace and skill as usual. PCA President Honorable Imtiaz Kadharbhai welcomed all the distinguished guests and briefly highlighted the history of PCA and its achievements. Honorable guests include Area MP Honorable George Chahal, MLA Mickey Emery. MLA and Minister of Alberta Muhammad Yasin, MLA Laila Ahir, MLA Dwunder in their messages conveyed messages of congratulations on the 75th independence from their leaders to all Pakistanis spread around the world and for building and developing Pakistan. Prayer titles were paid for. On this occasion, while thinking about the current situation of Pakistan, especially the disaster caused by the flood, special prayers were offered for its survival and safety, and a minute's silence was observed in memory of those who died in the flood. Cash prizes were awarded to the best dressed people. On this occasion, PCA invited Malik Salim, the recipient of its biggest award Edhi this year, on the stage and for more than forty years, Pakistanis and the Muslim Ummah have been honored. Appreciating the services rendered by him, he paid tribute to him. The business community, especially the mega sponsor Jodat Shaikh, famous realtor, Burhan family, Ghulam Mustafa of Vision Live Studio and others who have rendered excellent services in the organization of this magnificent program, called them on the stage and gave them shields and also paid tribute to them. What did Apart from this, numerous other people were also awarded certificates of appreciation. At the end of the program, our local singers met. Sohail Raja and Jamal Raja were given the opportunity to sing the songs found on the stage which made the crowd very happy. At the end of the program, the guests were entertained with traditional Haleem, Naan, Jalebi, Lassi and Tea.
