Tràng An Boat Ride Route 3 [Kong: Skull Island]

Tràng An Scenic Landscape Complex (Quần thể danh thắng Tràng An) is one of Vietnam's must-visit gems in Ninh Binh. It's listed as a UNESCO Heritage site. I had the opportunity to revisit it this year sometime in early March. Spring in Trang An this year was lovely.

Trang An features 3 routes. During my first visit, I took route 1. The ride was lovely ride and I highly recommend it. Watch it here:    • [Summer Edition] We Did the Trang An ...  

This year, I took route 3. It's best known as the King Kong route. That's because the movie 'Kong: Skull Island' was filmed here. In all honestly, I like Route 3 more than Route 1. It's gorgeous. I can understand why it's a very popular route.

Route 3 in order:
Trinh Temple
Hang Dot (Dot Cave) - 1000m long
Hang Van (Cloud Cave) - 360m long
Suoi Tien Temple
Dia Linh Mountain
Dai Cave
Hanh Cung Vu Lam Temple / Vu Lam Royal Steps
Kong: Skull Island Film Set

The journey may take about 3 hours. However, mine took slightly under 3 hours.

Should you consider Trang An boat ride Route 3? Yes, if you like a nice balance of caves and temples -- and if you want to experience the longest cave in the area, the Dot Cave. You will miss Hang Dot if you don't take this route.
