For many the sight, sensation and smell of a steam locomotive brings back memories of yesterday. For others the sight of the iron horse making its moves in the early morning to lace up with a consist of coaches for passenger service is a lifetime experience of steam, heat and occasional cinder.

This video represents the other side of how a steam locomotive comes to life. From the time the restoration concept begins men and women sacrifice countless hours of working in cutting metal, mending broken appliances cursing old v/s new technologies while bandaging busted knuckles and making new friends. We spend countless hours putting life on hold while putting new life into the locomotive. Either repairing cab appliances, pulling wire or replacing parts never seen by our passengers, our resolve never fades.

At the end of the day we look back and relinquish in our achievement's. Hours turn into weeks, weeks turn into months and months turn into productivity. Staybolt after staybolt, tube after flue, bolt after bolt, part after part, the engine moves closer and closer to the inspection and break-in running day.
