Ah yes, Final Escape Hardcore. Special thanks to Antwon for letting me playtest the hardcore version early. This map took me a long time to beat, and I can finally say I did it—wow! Definitely the best workshop map without a doubt. Everything about it is just so good: the music, the insanely difficult gameplay.

This map is absolutely torturous solo, and to this day, it still hasn’t been beaten in co-op—at least not with four players or fewer. EDIT: We have beat it co-op now and the video is on my channel

THIS MAP IS SO RIDICULOUS.
First off, in hardcore mode, you only get 50 bullets to earn Perkaholic in the starting room. You don’t need 100% accuracy, but it’s still a big step up from the regular version, where you get unlimited bullets and only need 50 kills and 50 headshots. Perkaholic is definitely recommended if you’re trying to beat this solo. Good luck if you don’t get it.

The next few sections aren’t too bad. The Speed Cola hill can definitely be challenging, and getting the sprint-shoot reward helps a ton. The soul box with the sprinting Panzer isn’t too bad once you get the hang of it, though I’ve died countless times from getting double-flamed by the Panzer or just having zombies block me.

Self-revive is almost impossible to get solo. Keeping your Blastomatic is a must for the ridiculously hard Lighthouse parkour—and even then, you might not get the perma-instakill, which is another overpowered (and necessary) reward. After that, you’ll need some luck to get the Wunderwaffe from the mystery box, and sometimes, you just won’t get it.

The ASP is a great pistol and super helpful for the final boss fight. The hardest part of the map is definitely the end. Even though the minigun instantly kills the boss, it’s what comes after that really sucks. First, you have Tranzit sprinters that will break your shield instantly, and then you need perfect aim to throw back the shock charges that the Panzers toss. I made it to the end countless times and died—one day, I reached the final part five times!

Anyway, still a really fun map, and I’m glad I can say I’m the second person to beat it!
