Designed by Ferdinand Porsche to run down Germany’s new Autobahn, the Beetle was the first rear-engined car since the Brass Era. With over 21.5 million Beetles produced, it is the longest running and most manufactured car of a single platform of all time. This particular 1961 Beetle is an absolute time capsule. Presented in near original condition, this one family beetle will toss you right back to the days of Kennedy in office. This little bug has 50,000 original miles on it and has never required any major work. There is some bondo work that will need some attention on the right rear fender where the car was backed into a tree stump in 1962, but other than that this little Beetle shows very well for its age. The original tool kit, jack, spare tire, v-belt, owner’s manual, and service booklet are even included. The interior has a mild patina to it, but it fits perfectly given the age of the vehicle. The steering is tight, the transmission shifts well, and the engine still runs strong. Check out this little bug today.
