Dholera International Airport in Gujarat is one of India’s most ambitious infrastructure projects. Located in the Dholera Special Investment Region, this greenfield mega airport is designed to become a global aviation hub and a key driver of economic growth.

Spread across more than 1,400 hectares, Dholera International Airport will handle millions of passengers and vast cargo volumes every year. The first phase includes a 3.5 km runway capable of handling the Airbus A380 and a modern terminal with a capacity of 20 million passengers annually. Future phases will expand this capacity to more than 50 million passengers, making it one of the largest airports in India.

Strategically connected to Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot, and Bhavnagar, and positioned within the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, the airport will support industries, exports, and tourism. It is expected to boost Gujarat’s economy, attract global investments, and provide all-weather international connectivity.

Construction began in 2022, and the first phase is targeted for completion by 2025–26. The airport is being built with cutting-edge technologies, sustainable design, solar energy, and smart terminal systems, ensuring it reflects India’s vision for world-class, eco-friendly infrastructure.

In the coming years, Dholera International Airport will not only relieve pressure on Ahmedabad Airport but also emerge as one of India’s most important aviation hubs, transforming Gujarat into a global trade and tourism destination.
