We're coming off of a hot end to the weekend, but the late-season heat is just getting started.

3News meteorologist Matt Wintz says we have dangerous heat on the way in Northeast Ohio, and even a threat for severe storms.

Here's What you need to know for our Weather Impact ALERT Today:

When: Tuesday Noon until 8 p.m.

Impact: Temperatures will be in the 90s with heat indexes north of 100 degrees in some areas. Additionally, we have the threat for strong storms--primarily late this evening into the overnight hours. Damaging winds and very heavy rain are possible where storms develop.

While most of the region will be hot overall, a specific heat advisory will be in place from noon-8 p.m. for areas primarily along and west of I-71. This does include downtown Cleveland. The following counties are included:

Cuyahoga
Ashland
Erie
Huron
Lorain
Richland
Need: Have a plan to prevent heat exhaustion. Be prepared to seek shelter, if necessary, and stay notified.

AIR QUALITY ADVISORY
Along with the high heat comes an Air Quality Advisory for the following counties:

Ashtabula
Cuyahoga
Geauga
Lake
Lorain
Medina
Portage
Summit
Anyone in the affected counties is asked to limit their time outside, if possible, to limit exposure to potentially unsafe air conditions.
