Dr. Mary Pipher is a clinical psychologist and the insightful author of eight books such as Reviving Ophelia and Saving The Selves of Adolescent Girls, most all of which have been on the New York Times best sellers list. Her newest book, The Green Boat: Reviving Ourselves in Our Capsized Culture is scheduled for release in early 2013.

In her TEDxLincoln presentation, Dr. Pipher examined how we as individuals and as a culture cope with the tidal wave of environmental information, including news of global climate collapse, that we must confront every day.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
