Founded in 1981 in Jersey, in the Channel Islands, by Luciano Brambilla and David Le Breton, Turquoise Days contributed to the minimal and synth wave scene of the 1980s with several singles, including the famous "Grey Skies / Blurred" in 1984, before putting their activities on hold in 1985.
Long remaining a well-kept secret among aficionados of this musical era, Turquoise Days experienced a resurgence of interest thanks to the preservation work of the Minimal Wave Records label. The label enabled the revival of their music with the release of the LP "Alternative Strategies" in 2009, followed by the compilation "Further Strategies" in 2019.
The year 2024 marks the grand return of Turquoise Days, now composed for live performances of Luciano "Luchie" Brambilla, Paul J Bentley ‪@JerseyPB‬ and Chris Petra. The group is embarking on a series of concerts, starting at the Waveteef festival in Belgium, followed by a performance in their homeland in Saint Helier, and finally a show in Paris on November 9, 2024, at La Machine du Moulin Rouge, as part of a Tech Noire event.
On the occasion of this Parisian concert, we had the opportunity to talk with the band members about the project's origins and their future plans!
