The ‘Barney Rubbler’ Sextuplet Gospel Chop - Advanced Drum Lesson by Nick Bukey.

In this lesson, I break down the ‘Barney Rubbler’ Sextuplet fill that I created when I was writing material for the online course ‘Advanced Sextuplet Chops’.

This fill consists of various linear and Paradiddle phrases placed into a 2 Bar Sextuplet Fill. It features two 6 Stroke Rolls as well as a variety of right-leading 2 and 3 note hand patterns. There are eight double bass drum strokes placed throughout the fill so this will get your foot moving and may prove a little challenging to play at higher tempos. Watch out for the LRL pattern down the toms at the conclusion of the fill as I may feel a little awkward transitioning back into the beat.

Apart from being a great sounding chop, this fill will improve your skills around the kit using sextuplet linear phrasing as well as develop your coordination inserting various kick drum notes within a pattern.
