'Plugging MV' is a series of videos where I showcase interesting (community-made) plugins for RPG Maker MV, as I discover them myself, while going through a list of 4000+ plugins.

Plugin: PhantomEvent.js

This plugin allows us to make events invisible, as the player moves away from them. (And vice versa, we can make it look like the event dynamically spawns on the screen, as we approach near it.)

Programmer: Triacontane

Tested on Version: 1.5.1

Some Applications:
1- Arrows dynamically popping up on map, guiding the player in a certain direction.
2- Scenes where the player is operating in limited sight. (Like for jump scares, in a dark room, for horror scenes. Where you want to give the sense that objects/people/events suddenly pop up when you're near them.)
3- Maze/Puzzle games/scenes
4- Dream/trippy sequences/cutscenes
5- Having enemies invisibly roaming on map, that suddenly show-up when the player is few tiles away from them.
6- Optimization: you could use this plugin to optimize your game, by turn every single off-screen event invisible.

Weird Applications: (because... why not?)
1- If your protagonist is near-sighted, wears glasses, and he/she loses them, then they may only see events/objects when they are near. And so, using this plugin all events can appear either transparent, or invisible, as they move further away from the player. (Could also be used in case your protagonist's eyes got damaged in some way.)
2- Using this plugin for small objects/loot like gold coins dropped on the map, that the player can pickup. (As technically, you shouldn't be able to see something small from far away. That's what I think, at-least.)
3- Applying it to every single event, because... why not?
