The Larue T60 industrial snowblower and the city of Rome, New York's Department of Public Works, widening Black River Boulevard. It's an all-night operation that may continue into Friday morning. The snow removal, will make it safer for drivers entering from intersections. The snow is being dumped across from the train station. Mountains of snow. During a nearly five hour work-time, about twelve-thousand tons of snow has been removed!!
The Larue T60, is powered by a 456 horsepower caterpillar engine, with hydrostatic transmission, and removes 3,500 tons of snow per hour with the capability of throwing snow one-hundred fifty feet(casting distance). over 1,400 pounds of torque. The T60, is operated by an LCD screen and joystick, and has a cozy heated cab.
Certainly could use this for my driveway.
Was frigid outside. And it will be very very cold for the weekend. Temperatures rebound next week, so expect another snow storm or lake effect snow. I've also noticed a Larue snowblower, clearing the utility path along the railroad tracks.
