Known to survivors as the Butcher of Birkenau, Moll oversaw open-air burning pits, mass executions, and the disposal of thousands of corpses. Witnesses described how he took part in killings personally, sometimes throwing victims into flames while they were still alive.

As the Soviet army approached in 1945, Moll led brutal death marches, shooting anyone who fell behind. He tried to disappear after the war—but survivor testimonies followed him. And justice came.

At the Dachau Trials, he was convicted of war crimes and crimes against humanity. On May 28, 1946, at Landsberg Prison, Otto Moll was hanged by the U.S. military. He offered no final words. No apology.
