Over the past few years, we have seen the growing influence
of pragmatism on the global missions movement.

Many
churches and missions organizations have shifted their focus
away from the wisdom of Scripture, and instead are relying on
worldly wisdom to drive their missions efforts.

As believers who strive to be obedient to the Lord’s command
to make disciples of all nations (Matt 28:18–
20), we must be
careful to proclaim the true Christ according to how He has
revealed Himself in His Word.

A biblical missions strategy needs to start with the right foundation.

Only when our efforts flow from the biblical principles
laid out in Scripture will we be truly effective according to
God’s standards.

With biblical principles undergirding our efforts, we must also
have biblical priorities—rather than defining our success by
worldly standards, we must be focused on the maturing of
believers and the strengthening of the local church.

Missions practices with principles and priorities grounded in
Scripture will be the ones that endure.

The practical outworking
of our missions efforts may vary depending on the country
and context, but the goal remains the same: make disciples.

In light of this great calling, we are excited to dive into this year’s
focus: “Biblical Missions: Principles, Priorities, and Practices.”

Throughout our keynote sessions and breakout seminars, we
will be taking a deeper look at what it means to approach missions
with this kind of biblical framework.

topics of this year’s Symposium in even greater depth.

We pray
that they will be a help to you as you grow in your understanding
and application of biblical missions.
