An diesem 1. Sonntag nach Trinitatis prägt das Evangelium, das gleichzeitig auch der Predigttext ist, den ganzen Charakter diesen Gottesdienstes: Die Geschichte vom reichen Mann und dem armen Lazarus (Lukas 16, 19 - 30). Kirchenältester Steffen Maeting hielt heute den Gottesdienst in Gnoien und trug eine sehr gute Lesepredigt von Pfarrer Werner Busch aus Braunschweig (gut!) vor. Annkatrin Pichler, die seit Freitag bei uns ein Schülerpraktikum macht, war auch an der Gestaltung des Gottesdienstes beteiligt. Ein herzliches Wort des Dankes an beide! ... natürlich auch an Beate Kraekel (Orgel) und an die beiden Küster Fred Blohm und Reinhard Wittenberg!

On this 1st Sunday after Trinity the traditional Gospel of this Day, which at the same time is our sermon text for today, gives the Sunday message its specific character: The story of the rich man and the poor Lazarus (Luke 16: 19 - 30). Church elder Steffen Maeting held the worship service today in Gnoien and read a very good preprepared sermon from Pastor Werner Busch from Braunschweig. In it we are taken "back in the future" - from the perspective of those who have lived their lives we look back at our own, ask whom we are more like. We hear the message that there is definitely a "too late". Today is the day to live in awareness of the moment, of the special circumstances and responsibilites of the moment, of the possibility of recognizing what is important (and what not) and of changing paterns, habits and lifestyles which are detrimental to the life God has given us.
Annkatrin Pichler who is currently doing a practicum in our congregation also participated in conducting the worship service. A special word of thanks to both! ... and of course to Beate Kraekel (organ) and to our two custodians: Fred Blohm and Reinhard Wittenberg!
