Measuring temperatures is nothing unusual—just a glance at the thermometer, and we know if it’s time for our swimwear. However, to understand global challenges like climate change, looking out the front door isn’t enough. We need data from the farthest corners of the Earth—even from space! This is where the Sentinel-3 satellite comes into play. It measures the Earth's surface temperature from an altitude of 800 km, even in the middle of the ocean. In this video, we’ll show you how Sentinel-3 works and why its data is crucial for understanding phenomena like heatwaves and natural disasters.
