How do I make my Immigrant Investor Program investment?

There are two ways in which you can make your investment:

● By using a facilitator Or
● By using an electronic money transfer

To make the investment by using a facilitator, you need to use the services of an approved financial institution from the list of approved facilitators, members of the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation. To name a facilitator for your investment you need to submit an original copy of the Investors Acknowledgement document, that must be signed by both parties, along with your permanent residence application. The facilitator will help when you want to finance and when you transfer your investment, while Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada will help assist with administration and securing the investment as a loan. The fees from the facilitator are covered with the commision paid by the involved provinces and territories.

To make the investment by yourself, without a facilitator, you can make the investment by using a wire transfer or an electronic money transfer. Along with the Electronic Funds Transfer document, you need to submit the following details:

● Your first and last name, and your address
● Your 10-digit immigration file number starting with the letter B
● Location for the visa office dealing with your permanent visa application
● Subscription Agreement, for the correct investment amount:
● CAN$400,000 if you applied before June 26, 2010
● CAN$800,000 if you applied after December 1, 2010

You must fill in your name and immigration file number, as well as sign and date the Subscription Agreement.
