The security cluster in the OR Tambo District in Eastern Cape has adopted a safer festive season operational plan to combat criminal activities during and post the festive season.

The plan includes deploying more police in hotspots.

One of those areas is Mthatha which has been characterised by a high incidence of extortion, Gender-Based Violence and Femicide, and the kidnapping of tourists.
