Civil Rights activist and journalist Anil Galgali is one of the foremost authorities on use of RTI. He has used it to good effect himself and forced various parts of government to act as per the law even when affected person was high-profile.
In this talk from Moneylife foundation platform, Mr. Galgali lays down a process to use RTI right to seek information and then how to use that information to create the right impact. So often, we are not sure about what information we need, and how to use it, and this gives an escape route to the concerned department.
With his vast experience in the field, Mr. Galgali reiterates his point using examples. He succintly connected use of RTI in cases where government exchequer was losing money to benefit a few people.
In the last part of the talk, he urges people to use RTI to get information and then spred that information using Social media, and he assures that this will be a very potent weapon in the fight for civil rights in the country.
