Painting over the old (w/ relaxing rain & thunder sounds 🌩) | Today in my sketchbook - Episode #14

You all know that I’m pretty new at this consistent sketchbook habit thing and I’ve noticed that people have different rules about how they use their sketchbooks.

Some artists like to have themes for a whole book. I have more of a higgledy piggledy, all over the place” approach.

Some artists include lovely calligraphic notes with their sketches. I’m lucky if I can read the scrawled dates or references I sometimes remember to add.

Some artists leave every page as is, the good, bad and the ugly. I don’t mind doing that either but I’m also not averse to a good old paintover! Which is what todays video is all about.

I actually really enjoy seeing what new things can arise if you let go of something old but leave little bits showing through. Enjoy!
