Piper Arrow - Practice gear failure

Описание к видео Piper Arrow - Practice gear failure

Andrew, my instructor pops the circuit breaker so the landing gear won't deploy. Now I need to follow the gear failure process.

On the Arrow, there's a small lever that will release the Hydraulic pressure and the gear just falls down... or should. In the case that the gear doesn't fully deploy (the right main gear light did not illuminate) - the process is to "wiggle" the aircraft to let it lock into place.

My wiggling was of insufficient power to do the job, so Andrew demonstrates how to do it properly.

The checking of the gear light was because we'd just replaced the bulb before that lesson. It's really neat - those lights all pop out, so in the event of a light not illuminating you can swap it out for one of the others and tell whether you're gonna have a really bad day, or you're just up for a new light bulb.
