Alleged Land Fraudster Claims Police Damaged Property in Raid

Alleged land fraudster Doris Grant is back in the news tonight, but this time, Grant says she’s the victim. Grant claims that around 5 a.m. yesterday, truckloads of police officers arrived at her farm in Gardenia Village, Belize District. She says that the officers searched the property while no one was at home and damaged her property. Today, while nothing incriminating was found, Commissioner of Police Chester Williams weighed in on the allegations. 

On Monday, Grant was arraigned on 14 counts of theft, 14 counts of obtaining property by deception, and 12 counts of obtaining money transfer by deception and stands accused of stealing over $120,000 from a woman in the US.
