The Penguin S1E2 Breakdown Recap & Review: Oswald’s Crafty Plan Explained *SPOILERS*

After the premiere, I hopped in front of this camera and said that while I enjoyed the episode, I was still unclear on what sort of show this would be. Would it be something more dark and brooding like The Batman film? Where Oswald is willing to do anything or take out anyone in order to move up the crime boss organizational chart? Or would it be a bit more lighthearted “How is Penguin gonna get out of this jam?” weekly adventure sort of thing? Well after this second episode, it kinda feels like it’s gonna be a healthy mixture of both, not leaning too heavily in one direction or the other, and I think that’s the wisest decision that will make this show accessible to as many people as possible. Overall, I thought this was a pretty enjoyable episode, and I’m enjoying the series in general. I don’t really have any complaints, but it’s also not really doing anything particularly special aside from the performances from Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti.
